Description
OMSI 2 builds on the legacy of its acclaimed predecessor, offering a detailed and immersive omnibus simulation. Set in the historic Berlin district of Spandau, players can experience driving classic buses such as the MAN NG272 articulated bus and explore new routes like line 5, which spans 12 kilometers from Ruhleben subway station to the Spandau psychiatric clinic. The game introduces a chronology function, allowing players to drive through different eras from 1986 to 1994, reflecting the changes in Spandau during a transformative period in German history.
The simulator boasts a wide range of features for enhanced realism and depth. Improvements include advanced AI traffic, a damage model with repairable malfunctions, and a dynamic weather and seasonal effects system. The newly designed buses, including the MAN NL202 and updated double-decker models, replicate detailed mechanical and visual systems, such as articulated joint kinematics and realistic sounds. OMSI 2 also integrates timetable replications and route expansions, including line 137 to Falkensee, adding variety to the gameplay.
For modders and enthusiasts, OMSI 2 offers robust customization tools. It supports importing Digital Elevation Models (DEM) and provides new editor functions for creating and adapting maps with aerial imagery and customizable terrain. Advanced scripting capabilities allow users to modify bus behavior and features, while compatibility with tools like TrackIR 5 enhances immersion. OMSI 2 remains a versatile and engaging platform for both casual players and dedicated simulation fans, combining historical context with detailed gameplay mechanics.
